Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Apr 15, 2014 11:59 pm Hi, I have a home built in 1956 and the front patio was originally (coloured) coloured concrete. 15 years ago I painted it and then painted again about 7 years ago. I decided to revamp once again but after having tried hydrochloric acid and a pressure cleaner to remove the existing paint I have found I still have bit of paint flaking off. I've now tried paint stripping gel followed by a pressure clean to remove any remnant of the stripper. I am now looking for a way to resurrect the original finish which at the point looks very chalky. Does anyone have any ideas. Cheers Re: Coloured concrete paving. 2Apr 16, 2014 7:25 pm That is a chemical residue that has been left behind from the stripper .. Use a degreaser to remove this . Once you have removed the residue insure that the surface is absorbent . Just sprinkle some water on the surface and if it soaks in you are good to go . I recommend to all my DIY clients to use stains as they are much easier to install and maintain in the future . No system lasts long with UV these days so a stain is better to maintain as it doesn't have to be removed to be enhanced . www.getnewlook.com.au have good videos on the DIY product called SmartColour .. Enjoy regards As most others have posted above the install isn't compliant. Internet suggested it should be $85-100/m2 to lay them.… 3 12551 |
