Hi
We had over 100sqm of concrete pavers laid in our front and backyard. Whilst the pavers are concrete they have the rough granite surface finish. The manufacturer of the pavers seal their sample products and as we were unhappy with the natural colour of the pavers upon installation we decided to seal the pavers to both protect from staining and more importantly enhance the colour as we liked the colour of the pavers when they were wet but not dry.
I sealed the pavers with Crommelin enhance satin (recommended by manufacturer of pavers) which is an acrylic resin sealer. Pavers were cleaned with high pressure spray and allowed to dry thoroughly. Sealer was applied as per directions using a roller for both coats. After the initial application we were relatively happy with the look however after around 3 months it seems much of the colour enhancing properties of the sealer has worn off. In the shade you can see the sealer looks patchy and uneven. Some areas look as though there is no sealer applied but this is not the case. Basically the pavers look like they have aged 20 years. Strangely when direct sunlight is over them it doesnt look as bad.
What can we do to fix this as it cost a substantial amount of money to purchase and have the pavers laid and I dont want to replace them
Is it a case of needing to re-seal them? Do I need to strip the old sealer and if so what is the best product to do so?
Any help would be much appreciated
cheers
