Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Mar 07, 2014 6:01 pm We have just had 10m2 concrete slab poured which will be used to have shed on it and spare space. The slab sits next to limestone retaining wall but there was no foam strip put between the surfaces. The concreter admitted this oversight but believes there should be no impact to the integrity of the retaining wall. I don't particularly care if there is minor cracking on the pad itself as it is out of the way. The limestone wall sits about 300mm above our gorund level and 600mm above ground level on the other side of the fence (i.e. our block is higher than the property next to us). Could this cause any adverse impact on the retaining wall, could this cause excessive cracking? I don't really have the energy to fight this issue, the same concretor did 150m2 of aggregate concrete to a very high standard previously for us and I do believe in the rush of things it was one thing forgotten. 2 7634 There is nothing in the various codes and standards that puts this requirement on the builder to do. I think that is what you are asking. Don't waste time trying to get… 5 2441 Thanks for the insights, that makes perfect sense, and yeah, I will be leaning on the experience of the excavator operator entirely. 6 16332 |
