Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Jan 15, 2014 10:41 am Hi all, I'm prepping an area of approx 45sqm to pave and I have a few questions about levels. Is it ok to have the finished height of the paver halfway up the bottom brick? As in the pic. http://i459.photobucket.com/albums/qq311/EB_Photos_2009/926810160a829b8288b4cf2924d1ac84.jpg I'm going to get the paving done professionally but I want to save some money in prepping the site myself so I don't want to dig to deep if I don't have to. My only concern is that my water tank slab has a finished height the same as the base of the bottom brick. Apart from access to the drain tap, will paving around the tank effectively damming it in cause any issues in the future? http://i459.photobucket.com/albums/qq311/EB_Photos_2009/3dfb2424f23d1275c5767e58860a2427.jpg Re: Questions about levels when paving 2Jan 15, 2014 11:09 am The finished height of your paving needs to be at least 75mm below your weepholes. And you are right to work the levels out yourself - concreters don't always excavate before they lay concrete (as we found) and they don't always seem to understand the purpose of weepholes. http://www.buildinginspectionsgoldcoast ... weep-holes Also make sure they grade the paving away from the house so you don't get water pooling near your slab. And if your ORG is in the area to be paved, make sure they understand that they are not supposed to raise it up so that it sits higher than your lowest fixture. Yes - weep hole advice from Lili right on. And slope - you don't water rolling in or "pooling" near house. I'd try to incorporate other cement in area - ie base for air/con, tank etc. It would look nicer. You may need that sponge spacer stuff to allow for expansion. Re: Questions about levels when paving 4Jan 15, 2014 12:22 pm Thanks guys I just hired a hilti to speed up the process. 10 mins with the hammer and I'm already a quarter way along the total area. Well worth the money. Hi, have purchased a house with 2 single garage doors. The Centre pillar one side sits proud to the other. Can I change 2 doors into one. Please see picture. 0 6349 I had 28m2 of engineered pavers laid six months back and it was difficult to find someone not taking the pi$$. Internet suggested it should be $85-100/m2 to lay them.… 3 12390 As most others have posted above the install isn't compliant.
