Hi all
The people we bought this house off had the brilliant thought to do a quick paint job to the concrete driveway (previously mission brown) in the most awful terracotta orange colour. It very quickly started peeling away and so we now have a mostly orange driveway with some black (?undercoat) and mission brown poking through.
Eventually we will likely tear down the carport and build a double garage and this driveway will be ripped up, so spending a few thousand to make it pretty would be a waste of money.
I'd love to do a quick cheap DIY job ($500ish) to paint it charcoal, but my concern is that the original paint would flake and we would have charcoal with orange spots
Any thoughts on how I could DIY strip the orange paint off? (If I can get it back to black undercoat or mission brown then I'm happy to take my chances repainting as flaking paint won't be as noticeable). Would an acid wash help?
We are talking 40m2 area of orange concrete which I am so sick of looking at!!!!
Also, any recommendations for non slip concrete paint. Our driveway slopes and the current stuff is slippery.
