Is anyone able to explain to me the pros and cons of the 3 types of concrete?
- Slate (Walkway)
- Colored Mix
- Colored on top and sealed

That aside: Any topical (surface treatment) is subject to wear. The level of wear and environmental influence, such as loose abrasive material (gravel, sand etc) spread by foot traffic, vehicle traffic or run off(erosion) as well as sunlight and weight of vehicle will decide the service life of a material. Best idea is to go and see such effects and observe the age and condition of a product. Colour through means surface abrasion will reveal the matrix of the product. The matrix or what lays beneath the surface will show through an area of high traffic. How much will be considered as high traffic is the manufacturers duty of care to tell you. As I said earlier, if you observe more local then you are going to get a closer representation of the issues faced by home owners using a similar material. That creating a rebate or set down will be problematic for the contractor to screed maybe ask if there is an alternative. They may be required to make or purchase a modified tool and use great skill. But sometimes a challenge is all we need to prompt us to do our best.
