Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Mar 15, 2013 7:58 pm Hi all, I'm building on a slope (higher at front) however my land was filled approx 700mm while my neighbours cut down theirs. I have to do some retaining walls but I do not know where is the best location. I have spoken to a few concreters and fencers that do retaining wall. My initial plan was to put the retaining wall in near my fence and one at the rear to create a stepdown garden. (see drawing). However, today, a fencer told me is better to put the walls right after the concrete ends. He said this is better for the concrete. But the thing is by doing so I have to leave a gap between wall and fence empty otherwise the soil will cause damage to fence in future as what he told me. I find that this method make it looks weird. Can anyone advise me here or may have a better idea? Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Retaining wall position after concrete?
