We are building a home through a builder and the driveway was poured last week. I have a couple of concerns and are looking for some advice about what could have caused this and if it meets regulations.
There is an obvious colour difference between the majority of the driveway and the concrete poured under the porch roofline. Under the porch it is much darker and looks almost like a different mix was used. The builder told us that it has a longer drying time as it was poured on top of the existing concrete slab. I think that is most likely a lie but would like some advice from any concreters?
There are also 3 cracks which have appeared within 4 days. They are narrow but fairly long and do not run in the expansion joints - they go diagonally across the slab.
Our builder has said that the sealant will disguise the colour difference, as they use a coloured seal. but considering we paid extra for colour through concrete I would assume the sealant should be clear. Any advice about colour issues or cracks?
