Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Jan 25, 2013 9:16 am Hi all, Just wondered if I am missing something? I put a job on service seeking for approx 160m2 of basic colored non stenciled concrete driveway on a flat surface (flat requiring minimal excavation). Location is Central Coast The quotes I have received vary from $8000 to $18000 ($50/m2 to plus $100/m2). Why such a range? I thought most competitive quotes for this should fall in the $50-60/m2 range. Is there anything I should look out for? Re: Colored concrete driveway quotes - difference in price? 2Jan 25, 2013 10:03 am Basic grey 25 mpa concrete will cost ~$200 cubic mtr($20 sq mtr@100mm thick) Mesh will cost ~$10 sq mtr Plastic ~$1 sq mtr Labour ~$40 sq mtr which includes minor sand leveling, set out & form up and placement. plus tie wire, chairs, tape, insurances, admin, fuel and wear n tear on vehicles. That cost is about $71 x 160= $11360 plus a margin of profit I figure $12,800 site unseen will get you a good job with the bare essentials. just my 2c Where you are coming from is where you are going to... Re: Colored concrete driveway quotes - difference in price? 3Jan 25, 2013 10:24 am oh BTW that does depend on your location within the central coast the cost per cubic mtr per kilometre from the plant could be a few $$s a mtr and waiting time at $2.90 minute after 45 minutes to discharge. How close is the nearest plant? Which premixed provider? Also how many stages the pour will take? Site works & pre lay requirements. Just food for thought as I see it. I guess I didn't figure labour could consume so much of the cost. By the math above that work out at labour about $6500 of total. I guess it must be a bigger job to do than I thought.
