Not sure, but I think you can't really do anything as it's been a day since the pour by now. BUT, what is the finish on the concrete? None or "some"?? Colour?? etc. My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... Re: Stone gouge in new concrete driveway 3Sep 11, 2012 10:51 am The driveway is just a plain concrete finish. I know there is concrete repair products available but I am thinking the color difference would be more noticeable than the gouge. I thought about just making up some mortar mix and scraping it across the top but I don't think it will bond sufficiently. In reality the gouge is only about 3mm wide and 1mm deep so in 6 months time it probably just blend in with all the other blemishes that inevitably happen. Just annoying when it's brand new concrete and I can't blame anybody but myself. Re: Stone gouge in new concrete driveway 6Sep 11, 2012 8:06 pm Lex Ah, that will disappear soon! Especially if the surface "dusts" a little ... hehehe well not what you really want to happen , dusting aint good especially if its been over watered Re: Stone gouge in new concrete driveway 7Sep 12, 2012 7:58 am Getjason Lex Ah, that will disappear soon! Have you sealed it yet or do you intend to? My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... Re: Stone gouge in new concrete driveway 8Sep 12, 2012 11:55 pm No I do not intend to seal it. As for over watering I did not think that was possible as far as I know the more water that gets put on the slab the better for curing it. Now that it is starting to dry out a bit it isn't really that bad and in six months it won't even be noticeable. Re: Stone gouge in new concrete driveway 9Sep 13, 2012 10:33 am Wait until it cures, then wait another couple of months and if it still bugs you then mix up a stiff mortar mix and fill it - not very wet either. Seriously, you probably won't even notice it after a while. Stewie Thankyou for your advice. We do have Caesar coming out and hopefully resolve the issue for us. 4 18742 To my understanding early saw cuts are to control shrinkage cracks, so doing them now would be pointless. Control joints may reduce ugly cracking during periods of soil… 3 9858 Hi all I need a guidance on how far I need to space expansion joints in the concrete driveway and its type (keyway/foam.) Contraction joints are at 3m max for a 125 slab. Thanks 0 10939 |
