We have about 35m² at the back to be worked, I was back and forth between stencil concrete and paving and have got various quotes.
Paving: Promenade 400mm x 400mm is on sale at the moment for $40/m² (I think that's a very good price), labour costs around $45/m², plus about $200 worth of road base and sand. Total around $3,200 (plus extra 5% to 10% pavers for wastage).
Stencil concrete: quotes around $65/m² all inclusive. However, no one is interested to come for a site visit (or they said they would come but never showed up and not answering phones), perhaps 35m² is considered a small area for concreters, but still it's $2,300 worth of potential business.
Anyway, I noticed a phone number on the driveway the other day (it's the concreter's number), he came the following day (at last someone is interested), however, he quoted $3,000 for the work. That works out to $85/m², sounds very excessive! But his reasoning was that he will need to come back a couple of times to do saw cut and sealing work, so it's not a one day job.
What do you reckon? $85/m² stencil concrete in Sydney metro sounds reasonable? It's nearly the same price as paving! Do you have someone to recommend?
Cheers!
