Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Jan 27, 2012 1:17 pm Hi everyone, My fiancé and I are building a new home in northwest Brisbane and are looking to get some quotes for a stencilled concrete driveway. We have a small issue in that the estate developer installed a semi-mountable kerb (quite a steep angle) and a short section of concrete driveway from kerb to our front boundary which is unsuitable, as my mister's car is lowered and would scrape badly on a semi-mountable kerb. Lastly, our block has a fall of approx 0.76m across where we'd want the driveway to go... we have a very sloping block so nothing is simple (or cheap). So... firstly, I would love to hear how much anyone else has paid per sqm for stencilled concrete so we know what sort of price to look for. Secondly, does anyone have experience with paying your concreter to re-do your kerbing and what are the associated costs? This would include breaking up and removal of existing kerbing. Thirdly, any thoughts on how we manage the side to side slope of the driveway? Do we have to level it out somehow, install retaining or just have a sloping driveway? Lastly, has anyone used a concreter around Bris that they would recommend? Hi all I need a guidance on how far I need to space expansion joints in the concrete driveway and its type (keyway/foam.) Contraction joints are at 3m max for a 125 slab. Thanks 0 11018 Yes, unless you are in a low intensity rainfall area or the area is protected from rain. Do you have access to NCC Part 2 or can you download it? I can email you a copy… 10 12589 I’m not a structural engineer but I’m free. you still need an engineer for the plans. I only have part of your plans, but you seem to have a 850mm drop from the side… 3 10006 |
