Browse Forums Paving & Concreting Re: Not sealing concrete pavers 2Jul 18, 2011 9:10 am Lex, I will preface this by saying i am a sealing manufacturer...ok I would say it is personal preferance as to whether to seal or not. A lot, and i mean alot of poeple now are sealing. The main reason for this is the ability to clean your pavers alot eaiser. If you seal, you can remove most stains within a period of time without having to worry about red wine or beer, fats and oils off the BBQ etc seeping down into the pores of the paver never to be removed again. Not only that but mst people spend big dollars on their backyard these days and if being laid by professionals the cost to do so can be around $100/sqm on just laying the pavers. Material cost to seal works out at around $3-5/sqm so why would'nt you. Even if you only spent $35/sqm on pavers and laid them yourself it still adds up to seal. Sealing also prevents quick ageing of the product. Keeping it looking new and with generally better colour for longer periods of time. On the flip side of this, the only thing i can think of as a positive is if you wish your pavers to age. That is, fade and become dirty looking. Not sealing will acheive this effect alot quicker. You will obviously be able to put the money you saved towards buying something else for the garden. Re: Not sealing concrete pavers 3Jul 18, 2011 9:18 am Oh Lex, pleeeeaaase seal you pavers.
