Hi everyone,
I am owner building on a semi-rural block. The block is fairly steep with difficult access, especially for a concrete delivery truck.
I am planning on digging & pouring the stepped concrete footings myself. Obviously it is going to take me plenty of mixes & pours before the footings are complete, compared to a single pour if I could use the service of the concrete delivery guys.
Now I understand that it wasn't that long ago when there was no such thing as ready mixed concrete delivered to the site and even today Im sure there are plenty of builders in rural areas getting by with a regular concrete mixer.
My question is - will the footings that are poured in stages over a number of days be structurally weaker compared to if I had them poured in a single go?
Any feedback would be great!
thanks
