Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Jun 09, 2011 7:44 am Hi all, We are looking to put 2 low voltage inground lights at the base of the two portico pillars at the front of the house. I have sources the lights and the woman in he lighting shop said that it will need to be incased in a plastic holder which she showed me, so that the lights can be lifted out easily. I am a bit confused as to what is the process with installing these. The sparky has put a connection for the lights into the garage so I know we will need to dig a trench from the garage to the portico pillars but then what? We are getting exposed aggrigate around this area so do I dig the holes for the lights and trench to the garage, get the wires connected then concrete around the 2 holes made for the lights? Would the concreter need to concrete the holes for the lighting case? Need to know from someone who has actually done this or had it done. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ All new built homes look like display homes... until the furniture goes in. Re: Exterior Inground Lights in concrete, whats the process? 2Jun 09, 2011 11:47 am Get the electrician to lay the conduit to the light, Get the concreter to place the plastic sleeve to finished level in the concrete. So buy the light fitting show the sparky and concretor before the job starts and tell them whats expected Landscape Design & Construction http://cherub.squarespace.com/ Re: Exterior Inground Lights in concrete, whats the process? 3Jun 09, 2011 12:17 pm okay, yes makes sense now. The electrician has laid the conduit to from the garage to the posts so I just have to show the concreter the plastic box and get the concreter to concrete to floor level. I guess it was more complicated in my head.
