Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Jun 07, 2011 2:36 pm Hi The area I am building in requires permeable paving for our driveway, paths etc. I am having trouble finding permeable pavers, especially ones that look nice. I have found this website http://www.stoneset.com.au/domestic.php. Apart from this I can only find a few paving blocks. Does anyone know anything about permeable paving, ie how strong it is, where to buy, experiences, cost, etc. Re: Permeable Paving - Does anyone know anything about it? 2Jun 07, 2011 3:27 pm permiable paving is generally pavers laid on crushed rock and sand. There are also grass pavers (concrete crib cells with grass growing inbetween) Also products like lilydale toppings, granatic sand etc There are paving products called permiable pavers ie; 14mm stone adhered together but im not a fan. Check the % of permiable requirement and this will dictate the type of product used http://www.cmaa.com.au/html/TechInfo/Te ... eable.html http://www.treesforlife.org.au/_resourc ... ntacts.pdf Da Vinci Outdoor Living Architectural landscaping http://www.davincioutdoor.com Re: Permeable Paving - Does anyone know anything about it? 3Jun 09, 2011 12:24 pm Go with the permeable concrete, we actually have it at our place on the drive. Have a 2000 mm section every 2000 mm so we have no run off on the driveway its transferred under ground and stored in tanks. They are butt-jointed together on a sand bed with roadbase foundation, but have a small roughly 25 x 25mm gap at the corners of the pavers, which are usually an irregular shape (bit like a jigsaw piece). You lay them down and sweep quarter minus into the gaps (very small screenings a few mm wide) and they let surface water into the water table. Stoneset is pretty pricey, it's laid on a roadbase as well, with various coloured pebbles binded together with a glue and screeded flat, it's around $180-$350/m² though depending on colour and rock size There is also granitic sand binded with soil-bond but it's painful stuff to use Planned Landscape Constructions http://www.plannedlandscape.com.au Find us on facebook http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id= ... 9907611509 Re: Permeable Paving - Does anyone know anything about it? 6Jun 15, 2011 6:14 am We have permeable and normal concrete sections. Starts with cross over (normal coloured concrete), then section of permeable (olive+grey colour),and simply alternates for length, these sections about 4000mm long so water runs down the concrete section then is absorbed in the permeable section. http://www.concrete.net.au/publications ... meable.pdf Try calling tennis court installers local to you and see if they do permeable, as most new courts and running tracks use it Landscape Design & Construction http://cherub.squarespace.com/ I had an old shower unit that broke on me and when I took it off, there were only 2 water pipes, instead of the normal 2 water pipes and a shower head pipe.
