One thing to remember with natural stone is that batches are different. Those display pieces would of been hand picked for the best colour our of the same pallet. Having said that the spots shouldn't be on the ordered ones if they weren't on the display pieces. Spots can be quite common on sandstone, although not usually in those sort of numbers as on yours. They can also occur from sitting around damp for long periods, which explains the Lichen. Perhaps the issue ****** with the supplier that the paving company is getting stock from (it looks like India from the top pic), they might have put in a lower grade sandstone and labelled it as being the one you ordered. That issue should not be yours though, the end consumer needs to get what is ordered. Edit- forgot to mention, there are a number of paving suppliers that have the pallets in stock, so you can view the stock of the actual variety you are ordering. Planned LScape, thank you so much for your comments! Much appreciated. That's what we told the supplier, as well as CAV, that we should get what we ordered and we should not be paying (delivery) for something that we didn't cause. We are actually been inconvenienced by this, as those 3 pallets have been sitting in our garage since mid-April! You are also right.. that's what we're thinking about the cause of those spots - might be sitting too long in a damp area. Because it was raining frequently during the last few months. And we saw from the pallet label that it came in from India in Nov 2010. And the pallets look rotten and with so many insects inside. I really hope that we would win this fight against the supplier. Because if not, it would appear that we, the customers, would be at the mercy of these paving suppliers just because they are the expert in that trade... that we would just accept whatever excuse they say. and just because the delivery is so costly on their part, it doesnt mean that we should pay for it. Again, thank you. We feel that we did the right decision to lodge a complaint to CAV. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Built the Nevada 42 Next project - landscaping! Re: Need your opinion about our pavers 18Jun 16, 2011 9:23 pm No unacceptable. The tiles you saw from the display are nice and smooth, blemish free. It reminds me of going in for a facial and coming out with freckles/spots on your face. All the best. Fight for what you want and no I would not be paying for delivery. You are definitely right.. that was the reason why we bought it in the first place. Very nice sample on display. It's alright to have some spots.. but those were too much! I really hope we get our money back or have it replaced without costing us a cent. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Built the Nevada 42 Next project - landscaping! Re: Need your opinion about our pavers 20Jun 19, 2011 10:31 pm My toes and fingers are crossed for you VJ. Would like to hear how you go. Thanks for the suggestion. The space between shower and sinks was too tight. I agree about the toilet location. So I have tried two other options: The lower one is… 3 6144 these look like missing batts. Go up and take a look.
