Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 May 05, 2011 5:16 pm Hi all, Could someone please PM a list of reputable companies doing exposed aggregate around Perth's northern suburbs? Also how much $ per sqm they are asking? I am not sure if it is worth the extra $$$, if there are other products you could suggest other than EA that would be great.... Thanks in advance Re: Expsoed aggregate in Perth 2May 05, 2011 5:23 pm We were in the same boat as you a few weeks back. We could not justify spending over 11K on aggregate so we ended up going for reinforced liquid limestone. For roughly 95sqm it came in at under $6,000. All sealed with all siteworks and I think it looks great. I am hearing some horror stories about LL and cracking which concerns me. Re: Expsoed aggregate in Perth 6May 09, 2011 12:09 pm Hi underconstruction.
Our LL has not cracked at all. Some people like to go the cheap option and get non-reinforced LL and then they wonder why it cracks. If it is reinforced and the groundworks have been done properly you should not have any problems with cracking. We reinforced all of ours and did it 100mm thick. It has not cracked at all and it has been down for over a month now. At our old house we had it out the front for 5 years and did not have any cracks where reinforced. However out the back none of it was reinforced and it we got 1 crack near the doorway out to the patio. Hence why we reinforced it this time around. We paid about 61.75 for reinforced and sealed LL. Our aggregate quotes all came in around the $110-$120 per sqm sealed and reinforced and 100mm thick. Re: Expsoed aggregate in Perth 9Jul 07, 2014 6:03 pm Ours has been in for 3 years, there's one or two very minor hair line cracks (the house next door was constructed after the limestone went down, and I suspect this had something to do with it). But as I said, extremely fine, and doesn't look to be very deep at all. No major issues at all, 100m reinforced limestone. Last year I had a gas leak at my house. 3 days later, I have about 1 sqm of my exposed aggregate paving broken up. I am not sure how to go about getting it repaired… 0 10411 After some ideas on making our patio kid friendly . Currently we have exposed aggregate. The patio faces west and is always in sun even though it has a shade directly… 0 3618 |
