Browse Forums Paving & Concreting Re: Driveway paving in bad drainage area,, or alternatives?? 6Apr 23, 2011 3:23 pm Thanks guys, my drainpipes get piped into my 7000 gallon rainwater tank, and when its full which it usually is, the overflow goes straight onto the lawn which is simply mud with a layer of grass on it after any sort of a rain ( I am at a place called cabbage tree point which is on the northern end of the Gold Coast and yet sort of in the country) We are on tank water with biocycles. Its a cane growing area that is two fiths of bugger all above sea level. Dig down 30 cms and your pretty much at the beach There is a 4 meter easement along the back of the garden for drainage (my neighbour kindly put a water tank on his patch of easement which means I get a wonderful swamp effect in the back of the garden after heavy rain. One side of the house has a garden with pebbled walkway which has ag pipe in it which pipes into the gutter on the road. A lot of people around here have knocked a hole in the gutter to concrete their own PVC pipe into it for a bit of yard drainage. The Gold Coast council doesnt seem to have a problem with that. For my problem, I was thinking road base, sand and paved tracks which angle slightly in, and having pebbles down the middle with a coupla lengths of ag pipe under those pebbles piped down to the gutter at the road. ??
