Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Jul 24, 2019 1:39 pm I have just had a front wall built at the front of my house. Unfortunately the brickie also laid the footings for the automatic gate that runs behind the front wall at the same time. Its ended up being quite untidy as there a gap between the wall and the footings. See photo... My OCD has got the better of me and I want to tidy this up. I basically want to box up the back side and lay over the top of the existing footing and fill in the gap. The issue is that the footing is already level with the driveway as the gate needs to come across. So my question is how thin can I lay concrete over the top. I went to Bunnings and they recommended perhaps some Ardex products as this can be laid thin. I appreciate any advice here? Are you rendering that bessa brick wall? If so, once rendered and painted, will look fine. Also, once gate and guide is on, you won't even notice. https://thomasarcherbuild.blogspot.com/p/blog-page.html - Thomas Archer Homes - Custom Nouveau 41 Re: Lay concrete over concrete 4Nov 07, 2019 6:54 am Just an update...I purchased a bag of Ardex 46 for about $85. A little expensive I thought for 1 bag but it did the whole lot and managed to get about a 3 to 4mm spread across the top of it - dries really quick so only could mix a little at a time. Looks a whole lot better and so far so good. Much a do about nothing. You can see the fall heading to the actual drains. Stormwater ingress will be minimal and it's far better to have the top sitting flush rather… 12 6345 As most others have posted above the install isn't compliant. The pipe is meant to be covered in loose soil or sand, the pipe has holes in it that leaks out a termicide… 10 5851 Just get as close as you can without hitting the posts. Once you are close to the edge of the path the chance of cracking is minimised. 7 9250 |
