Re: Nu-Tech concrete finish 2Apr 07, 2011 4:11 pm Yes, I used this product on my garage floor (new concrete) approx 2 yrs ago. Am very satisfied with the result and would recommend. That being said, the result of any concrete finish will only be as good as the preparation. Mine was new concrete which I washed down first with an acid wash which I then hosed out with plain water. I allowed it to dry for 24hrs with some assistance from a blower. I applied 3 coats with a roller (long handle) approx 4hrs between coats. Pavecoat is solver based and the aquaglaze, water based. Domenic from the thomastown branch was very helpful and knowledgable. Re: Nu-Tech concrete finish 6Apr 16, 2013 3:57 pm Bringing up an old thread again... We just had our concreting done and at the last minute got talked into doing plain concrete in the backyard but kept the exposed aggregate we wanted out the front. The guy threw in a big tub of Nutech Pavecoat colourant (The colour is bluestone) to use on our plain concrete as it would match our colourbond fencing and fascia etc. whilst being cheaper (I hope this is the right colour to match Woodland grey... he didn't even ask us). I feel we got a bit ripped off but I was too stressed about everything else so just went ahead with it anyway! The problem is... the exposed driveway and the plain paths (directly behind our gate) are connected, meaning there is no gap. Will there be any difficulty putting the colourant down without it leaking/damaging our aggregate? I have briefly read about how to apply it on the website but need more advice first. Also, how many coats should we apply? He told us one coat would last about 8 years but I'd think more would be better Any advice on preparation is appreciated too! Also with Topical paints and sealers that are mostly smelly/solvent based they will be slippery in the wet This is why we reccomend concrete colour stains that look natural , consistant colour everytime and best of all easy to apply and environmentally friendly Jas Hi, did you get any money from insurance? if you did, does it match what you've already paid the builders? 3 9565 4 14463 Building Standards; Getting It Right!
