Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Mar 23, 2011 10:44 pm Ive done a bit of research and a little confused as to what is the requirements or conditions for pebbles/garden beds up against a house slab. i understand minimal requirements about paving minimums from 900 - 1200 around the house perimeter, however ive seen so many pics of houses with rock/pebbles/garden beds directly hard up against the slab of the house? how is this being done? is this acceptable ? i know it will cause issues with water run off etc, but can a suitable plastic+damp course be laid before pebbles and small plantation is laid? almost every home from the Metricon* range (http://www.metricon.com.au) shows facade images of wonderful front landscaped homes, majority with garden beds laid hard up against the slab wall? any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated Re: Pebbles/Garden Bed around slab 2Mar 24, 2011 5:34 am Different rules and practices in different states. In Victoria its not usual to pave all around the house and with modern foundations it doesn't seem to be a problem.
