Browse Forums Paving & Concreting Re: concrete or decking 4Mar 14, 2011 3:16 pm I think our decking cost us $4500 all up, for an area around 45m2 or just under. That would equate to $100m2. We did it ourselves. Had we paid someone else, it would be at least double the price. I doubt any concrete would be $200m2, therefore, concrete possibly cheaper http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/ac165/aaron4erin/Backyard260211.jpg Re: concrete or decking 5Mar 14, 2011 3:27 pm Thanks Erin,I like decking have concerns on oiling how often etc with concrete it's maintenance free[at least I think so]ps I think it's110sqm Re: concrete or decking 11Mar 16, 2011 9:33 pm Exposed aggregate for that price is a worry... Re: concrete or decking 12Mar 17, 2011 6:14 pm Yes thought it a bit cheap.$110 is not to bad ,Erin said decking was about $100 sq m [I think that's what Erin said].Is there anyone in vic that you would recommend maybe we could fly you over Re: concrete or decking 14Mar 17, 2011 10:00 pm Fly us over, it IS what most people do.. we are booked about a year out.. ...our guys in Vic are flat stick.. no chance for them to do it... so it is the only way for us to do the work for you. In the whole scheme of things flights and accomodation are small change for the work we do and the add ons are minimal. Where you are coming from is where you are going to... Re: concrete or decking 18Mar 19, 2011 8:36 am Ok here we go... Aggregate is the stones in a concrete mix.. They are either exposed to reveal a rough textured surface called exposed aggregate or the concrete is grinded(=ground) down to reveal the stone aggregate in the form of semi smooth, smooth or polished concrete. The aggregate size can vary from 7mm, 14mm, 20mm etc so it is suggested for polished concrete for example 14mm is a good size from an aesthetic point as far as uniformaty in the finished product. Hope this helps Where you are coming from is where you are going to...
