I read somewhere that these tinted sealers can be tinted so much that they effectively can provide a colour-on-top effect. Is it true? Has anyone tried? Have an area behind the garage that we are tossing whether to colour-through or to do it in plain concrete and then maybe seal with this tinted sealer. Re: Coloured sealer on plain concrete 2Mar 03, 2011 8:51 pm Hi Lex, I have used Aust slate crete supplies colored sealer on by driveway (charcoal) and rear concrete area (sandstone) and they are fantastic are a full colored sealer and will cover plain concrete no problems. I have found it doesn't peel at all even on driveway even turning tires on one spot in my car will highly recommend it and price is good to. Re: Coloured sealer on plain concrete 3Mar 04, 2011 8:18 am Thanks kassan1973 BTW, noticed that this site says "93 MPA strength after 28 days" ... "A finish that is stronger than concrete itself" ... This finish layer then seems to be incomparable to colour-through concrete, which seems to be actually weakened (although only marginally) by the colour oxide contents in it. So, if we compare stencilled vs. colour-through - what I understand, and according to this new info, if we start from a 25 MPa concrete specification, a colour-through solution would end up being just under 25 MPa all the way through, while a stencilled (or colour-on-top) solution would end up being 93 MPa on top and 25 MPa underneath!!! My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... To my understanding early saw cuts are to control shrinkage cracks, so doing them now would be pointless. Control joints may reduce ugly cracking during periods of soil… 3 9858 Hi all I need a guidance on how far I need to space expansion joints in the concrete driveway and its type (keyway/foam.) Contraction joints are at 3m max for a 125 slab. Thanks 0 10939 |
