Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Feb 10, 2011 5:24 pm I've just had about 20-30 cubic metres of sandstone dug out at my place and now left with a nice area that needs to be paved.... Before I had the rock cut out I'd had a number of people come and have a look, but they got scared off by the rock.... anyway this one landscaper has been helpful all the way along.. he's actually come out about 3 times to give advice and now that the rock is gone he's going to be giving me a quote to do some paving but I'm a little worried about what his price is going to be... from the sounds of it, he doesn't get his hands dirty, he gets others to do the work, so I'm a little worried that he'll mark the price up a lot. The area is approximately 8 metres x 4 metres, I'll be getting probably 400mm square pavers, no fancy patterns. Will need some roadbase and sand I'm guessing to do it properly... So yeah just wondering roughly what would I expect to be paying just for the labour to lay pavers for this size? (not including the cost for the pavers). While I'm at it... how hard is it to build a garden bed along a fence... I'm going to be using the rocks from the excavation so its just the rough look... only about 30cm high. Not sure if I need to put a concrete base alll the way along, or just lay the rocks directly on the ground...
