Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Jan 27, 2011 6:49 am Hi Everybody. My neighbour has his garage wall running 6 metres along our boundary. It's 3 metres high and made of brick. I want to build a wall for a new room right up to (and alongside) his. It will be the same length and height. I'm worried about how to pour a footing along his existing wall without causing the wall to collapse or crack. Can someone please tell me how such work is usually carried out? As an aside, we do have planning consent from the council for this room but haven't got a building permit as yet. Thanks. . Re: Footings next to existing wall 2Jan 27, 2011 11:34 am You will need a feature/contour survey and an engineer will have to design the footings. They will tell you if it can be done or not. You will probably want a re establishment survey as well, to make sure that the neighbors wall isn't actually on your land. When building on a boundary these are considered a must. 4 11199 1 19722 i imagine you also have another contract with an architect? and yeah, whatever other's said about special conditions and appendices 16 16001 |
