I am thinking of buying a house in a very remote location. The road to access from the highway it has more potholes than actual road, there's rocks sticking out everywhere, half of it is washed away, tree roots sticking out everywhere, etc. No chance of getting a non-FWD all the way down it. The FWD part is about 400 metres long.
What options are there to make it accessible? For example, dumping a load of gravel on it and raking the gravel into the holes, or building a full sealed road? How much would it cost (keeping in mind it's an hour from any major town with narrow windy roads to get there)?
The house is really cheap and I am hoping to get an idea of the costs involved with making it liveable
Thanks!
