He left total mess. for 4.5m long exposed driway with stones we have paid $4k. standard 6m apparently starts from $6k. cheers kate Re: Quote for driveway, Brisbane? 3Nov 29, 2007 7:14 am Thanks Kate, I'm in Springfield Lakes at the moment and moving to Greenbank. our driveway is 30m long, so going to be expensive.
I think I will have to try the Jimboomba local paper. Are there people who specialise in driveways or do I contact a builder? Jet Re: Quote for driveway, Brisbane? 5Nov 29, 2007 8:20 am Don't really know. We have about an 8m slope over the 30m and also fill on both sides that would need some sort of retaining. I think concrete will be too expensive and gravel will just wash away down the drive. I've heard about crushed sandstone being good or paving being cheaper than concrete. That's why I don't know who to call, if there are specialists in driveways maybe they can give me an idea of what would be best and how much each costs. Re: Quote for driveway, Brisbane? 6Nov 29, 2007 8:43 am I know that our builder have a company they use for their concreting called "concrete technologies". If you do a google search they will come up and they have offices in each state so you should be able to get a quote from them. They do plain concrete, colour through concrete, stencil concrete, aggregate concrete, etc.
I don't know that they will be the cheapest but at least it's a starting point. Ray. Second Time 'Round driveway 7Nov 29, 2007 5:06 pm Jet79 Don't really know. Jet, I have a lady at work that lives behind the Ipswich and she was organising sth for long driveway recently. Give me a time I will ask her for some numbers. cheers kate Re: Quote for driveway, Brisbane? 10Nov 30, 2007 6:31 am Quote: How about hotmix? you can get it colored and it looks great, and you can get the edges curbed. I did a google search and found one company that did it, I have emailed them. I could only find it's uses in commercial roads, not driveways. They also say it's really slippery. On such a steep slope I wonder how the grip will be? Has anyone used this before on a home driveway? Jet Re: Quote for driveway, Brisbane? 12Nov 30, 2007 7:53 am Go Jet....!
50 very useful and informative posts too. Re: Quote for driveway, Brisbane? 13Nov 30, 2007 9:32 am We used A&W Scott they do tarmac drives, they are Local (in Greenbank) and did a great job, polite, prompt, and the only Co that offered machine laid tar.
Great job and less than 1/2 the price of concrete. Re: Quote for driveway, Brisbane? 14Nov 30, 2007 4:05 pm Tarmac driveway,, got any pics of that be interested to see how it looks. and how much was it if you dont mind me asking? were i will be building (brookwater qld) they have strict covenants and one rule is we have to has a driveway & landscaping before we can move in. Unfortunately this doesnt give us much opportunity to raise the funds for this as no doubt the house will bleed us dry. driveway 15Nov 30, 2007 5:12 pm Jet,
the lady I work with, she purchased a "roadbase" from landscaping supplies and hired a bobcat to spread it along 20m driveway. Apparently it takes then 4 weeks to settle and is realy good. ($460 for roadbase and then few hours work for the bobcat) She told me, and I have to agree that you should look for local bobcat cause they all charge you $90 per hour including time they for coming to you (sick!). cheers kate Re: Quote for driveway, Brisbane? 16Nov 30, 2007 5:38 pm Hey Plunger, do still have their number? I did a google search and they didn't come up.

Piranha, We had also driveway and landscaping in covenance and no one really checked that. The thing is that the developer checkes that. Your house is being approved by private certifier and he... does not care. We did the driveway before we moved in but it was not there at the handover. Landscapin... we were doing for the first year and still haven't finished ) cheers kate Re: Quote for driveway, Brisbane? 18Dec 01, 2007 7:22 am I'd be really careful piranha we are in Springfield Lakes and I know they are really strict about everything being done on time. My friend had to move her shed twice because you weren't allowed to see it from the road. I know of a few people in Brookwater and the covernants are strictly monitored (got to keep Greg's rep in tact ) Once I find someone to give me a quote I'll let you know, we're building down the road at Spring Mountain (Greenbank).

Jet hey there! 😊 so, it’s kinda common for standard drawer depths to be around 500mm since most cabinets use this size to fit the usual runners… 3 20906 I was being kind to the builder. With the amount charged for the upgrade the builder is probably charging closer to 100% margin. There are a few variables as I… 5 14314 I had 28m2 of engineered pavers laid six months back and it was difficult to find someone not taking the pi$$. Internet suggested it should be $85-100/m2 to lay them.… 3 12390 |
