Hi,
I am researching driveways and I really like the asphalt but I'm a little freaked out by the cost so hubby has asked me to compare with other surfaces.
I am building in New Beith (near Greenbank) Qld. I have at least one driveway of at least 110m2 but there also need to be driveway access to the side of the house where there will be a carport. We are not sure whether to have two driveways or have a large U-shaped drive. I guess it will depend on costs.
After reading through the forums I pretty much have come to the following conclusion;
Exposed Aggregate $80-100 per square metre
Plain Concrete $60 - 80 per square metre ($70 and up for coloured)
Asphalt about $40 per square metre but best to have an edging about $18 per linear metre
Bitumen about $30 -35 per square metre
So would that include everything for those driveways? Like surface prep?
So if gravel is the cheapest driveway what would it be? Around $20 per square metre?
Desperately trying to budget the extras before we sign our tender document.
Thanks,
Nat.
