Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Oct 21, 2010 12:19 pm Hi guys, just wanted to know how easy or difficult it will be to remove newly laid brick pavers (blockpave 220x220x60)? Are they cemented to the ground or can we pry them up without damaging the bricks? Reason is our builder includes paving to the alfresco area, about 20sqm. But we're thinking of replacing it with either exposed aggregate or liquid limestone. Builder says its too late now to cancel the paving job as the bricks have been ordered and brickie booked. If we can remove the bricks without damaging them at least we can use them elsewhere. 12 March 2010 - Land titles received 3 April 2010 - Signed building contract 14 April 2010 - Prestart 28 April 2010 - Loan approved 30 June 2010 - Slab completed 27 August 2010 - Brickwork completed 22 September 2010 - Roofing completed 30 September 2010 - Internal walls plastered 12 October 2010 - Lock Up 19 November 2010 - PCI 26 November 2010 - Handover 29 December 2010 - Moved In https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=32584 Re: How to remove brick pavers? 3Oct 21, 2010 12:42 pm I had asked them about this already. Brickie has to lay the alfresco area as per the contract, our CLO said the house will not be considered complete if it wasn't done. 12 March 2010 - Land titles received 3 April 2010 - Signed building contract 14 April 2010 - Prestart 28 April 2010 - Loan approved 30 June 2010 - Slab completed 27 August 2010 - Brickwork completed 22 September 2010 - Roofing completed 30 September 2010 - Internal walls plastered 12 October 2010 - Lock Up 19 November 2010 - PCI 26 November 2010 - Handover 29 December 2010 - Moved In https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=32584 Re: How to remove brick pavers? 4Oct 21, 2010 12:57 pm That is a shame, it should be easy enough for them to only put them there temporarily without setting them. Seems they only bend the rules when it is a benefit to them. Sorry I've never had paving done at my places so not too much help otherwise. Re: How to remove brick pavers? 5Oct 21, 2010 1:35 pm That's what i was thinking, how difficult would it be to just tell the brickie not to bother paving that area....i mean we're still paying for everything so the builder has nothing to loose, and the brickie still gets paid for the full job but has less work to do. So has anyone tried removing brick pavers before and how do you do it without damaging the bricks? and your back? 12 March 2010 - Land titles received 3 April 2010 - Signed building contract 14 April 2010 - Prestart 28 April 2010 - Loan approved 30 June 2010 - Slab completed 27 August 2010 - Brickwork completed 22 September 2010 - Roofing completed 30 September 2010 - Internal walls plastered 12 October 2010 - Lock Up 19 November 2010 - PCI 26 November 2010 - Handover 29 December 2010 - Moved In https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=32584 Re: How to remove brick pavers? 6Nov 22, 2010 2:55 am Should be pretty easy to remove. They only put cement around the edges to hold everything in place, so once you've broken that (should be easy enough with a hammer), you can just pull them up. On the plus side it would be a nice level compacted surface for you to concrete on. It might be worth giving some thought as to where you would want to put them, then offer your paver some cash to put the pavers down there instead! How do you remove one of these ceiling air con vents? And is it possible to disconnect the duct joined to the vent from inside the house, without going into the roof cavity? 0 5933 the step up is 30mm and wanting it to be flat . how much does the concrete have to be lowered .we plan on removing bath and lenghten shower and adding seat. the old bath… 0 11835 You have no photo with your post.
