Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Oct 16, 2010 9:28 pm Hi all, I've got poured limestone down both sides of my house but on one side it stops at the fence running from the side of the house to the neighbours fence. I want to fill an area in front of the fence around my hose and electricity meter etc... It's approximately 8 square meters - that's including a small path to kerbing around my lawn. I've had a problem finding anyone to do it, because it's such a small job. Obviously there's not alot of money in it for them and thats totally understandable. However I have found one guy who is prepared to do it and has come out and quoted me $850. Now alot of the other companies say around $50 per sqm for poured limestone, so this particular quote works out at around double that, but the guy told me the concrete alone would cost $400ish, and the job would take him the best part of a day to complete. I'm tending to think this is a pretty reasonable quote, and i think if i managed to find anyone else who would actually do the job i think i'd struggle to get a quote much better. Thoughts anyone? Re: reasonable price - poured limestone?? 2Oct 17, 2010 11:29 pm are the areas high usage areas? are the areas seen - eg dead side of the house etc? just a thought - salvage yards have "seconds" limestone paving for around $3 a paver 400x400 you'd get 6.38pavers per square metre these pavers have minor problems, but still good for little areas hope this helps Follow Feggle viewtopic.php?f=31&t=34992 Follow lilfeggle viewtopic.php?f=31&t=37149 Asbestosis Sux! I agree with lilfeggle that if its not an obvious area i would simply hire a compactor and buy some limestone pavers.... 12 March 2010 - Land titles received 3 April 2010 - Signed building contract 14 April 2010 - Prestart 28 April 2010 - Loan approved 30 June 2010 - Slab completed 27 August 2010 - Brickwork completed 22 September 2010 - Roofing completed 30 September 2010 - Internal walls plastered 12 October 2010 - Lock Up 19 November 2010 - PCI 26 November 2010 - Handover 29 December 2010 - Moved In https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=32584 Re: reasonable price - poured limestone?? 4Oct 18, 2010 7:02 pm It sounds like a day rate to me...so about right. It's not an obvious area but i'd still love to just finish it off with the limestone. The guy that quoted me was actually confused - just like I am - why the area was never done or finished off properly. At the moment its just sand with a couple of exposed aggregate pavers as sort of like stepping stones. I might think about neatening them up a bit and filling the area with rainbow stone which is what i plan to use to fill the rest of the garden beds around it.
