Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Oct 09, 2010 7:38 pm Hi folks We need to get some pavers to put inside our garden shed. I was thinking we would be happy with seconds or used pavers. Then, today, I went to visit a friend who, lo and behold, have ripped up their old pavers and was going to sell them on eBay. When I told her it was just what we were after, she told me we could take what we needed (free) - but I want to give her some $$ for them seeing as she would have probably got $$ for them on eBay (??) and I wouldn't feel right taking them knowing they were intending on selling. So, how much do you think is reasonable to offer her - given she is offering for free. She said they are dirty/need a scrub and some are not full size. We need enough to fit a 3 x 3.75m shed (roughly 50??). Is $50 too little/too much?? I have no clue what would be reasonable. Any idea?? I think that'd be a nicer idea especially since they have said they didn't want any money for them. Re: reasonable price for 2nd hand pavers?? 3Oct 09, 2010 7:56 pm Good idea donuts. Thing is though, we already have them coming over for dinner in a couple of weeks time - and as for taking them out to dinner, we wouldn't get away with it for under $50 and probably couldn't afford much more ourselves. And, on top of that, I know they are selling whatever they can on eBay as their renovation went way over budget so they are really trying to recoup costs wherever they can - so in all honesty, I think cash is what they would prefer over a meal. And I know she offered for free being a close friend etc, but I would rather at least give them something given we would have had to pay for them elsewhere. So, I'm just trying to establish what might be reasonable. I think $50 probably reasonable for second hand/dirty pavers (just gotta check with the hubby that he is Ok with grubby second hand pavers because I think he envisioned nice new concrete pavers in his new shed - as did I originally). Thanks for the idea though donut - appreciated. Ceebs Seems good to me. I've been told $4-5k/sqm is reasonable in Perth. 2 11166 Hi team, Im looking for a second hand sd4b monitor preferably white. 0 8923 If there have been changes, variations, during construction then the drawings should be revised, the building permit amended and the current, as built drawings given to… 2 4480 |
