I'd say it most probably just comes down to personal tastes, and what colour works best with the properties overall colour scheme. Re: Why so many grey driveways? 4Sep 23, 2010 10:51 pm I'd reckon it's just because that is the default colour of the concrete mix that comes out without adding any pigment. My guess is that people aren't aware that it can be coloured when it is laid, and figure that one day...they'll get some paving paint onto that. I've got so many jobs that are waiting for that "one day" Re: Why so many grey driveways? 6Sep 24, 2010 10:21 am donuts JCormich Why so many grey driveways? cause they look good + 1 Loretta Built The Jenmark with Cavalier Homes Macarthur. http://camdenacres.blogspot.com/ Thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=17870 We are in - front landscaping begins Re: Why so many grey driveways? 7Sep 24, 2010 10:48 am JohnnyD donuts JCormich Why so many grey driveways? cause they look good + 1 Loretta +2 I still haven't had my driveway laid, but it will be grey. Why? it will tie in with my house style/colour and blend in to the landscaping (when that's done). Any other colour would look completely wrong, and a plain concrete (no added colour) is far too bright on a hot sunny day. The grey doesn't reflect nearly as much! Henley - Wilshire Mk 3 ... However one grano worker i spoke to said light colours dont work so well. Natural concrete is grey after all. My other concern is whether the colour will fade with age. I see alot of old brown driveways that look pretty poor. Re: Why so many grey driveways? 10Oct 20, 2010 5:07 pm We haven't placed any grey driveways in the last few years. We got a 'natural' coloured limestone paver which looks great. Even though we sealed it properly we still get car-tyre marks a little. And it's VERY glarey... need sunglasses on. Looks a million bux but Re: Why so many grey driveways? 13Oct 28, 2010 1:52 pm Dark grey to match all the dark grey roof tiles that seem to be popular at the moment. Don't mind how they look, but think they would absorb a lot of heat in the summer sun!!! Some people don't have time to do the job right the first time, but seem to have plenty of time to fix their mistakes.
