Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Jun 12, 2010 7:37 pm Hi all help please! We are selling in 8 weeks and the driveway is horrible! its concrete and has had huge cranes up it, hiabs and such and is cracked and uneven! What can we put down that is cheap (under $2k) the less the better! Its about 75sqm.....although we could get away with just doing 55sqm. Paving was quoted at $1800 plus pavers Concrete was $2200 plus Asphault (sp?) was approx $2000 (if one would bother turning up to quote!!) Other ideas? we will go ashphault if we can get one here to quote and do the job but they dont seem interested at all........but would rather a cheaper option considering all the $$ we have spent on improvements already! Re: Ideas for redoing driveway for sale? 2Jun 13, 2010 8:03 pm if possible install timber edges etc and cover with lilydale toppings or the like. but this will cause probs down the track for new owners. cost less than a grand Da Vinci Outdoor Living Architectural landscaping http://www.davincioutdoor.com Re: Ideas for redoing driveway for sale? 3Jun 13, 2010 8:21 pm Hi thanks for that suggestion. I did look into that but the local landscape centre said it wouldnt be any good as my driveway is on a slope, quite a decent slope, and they felt it would slowly wash away with the rains down the hill.....its at least a difference of 2m top to bottom over 18m length. To my understanding early saw cuts are to control shrinkage cracks, so doing them now would be pointless. Control joints may reduce ugly cracking during periods of soil… 3 9831 Hi all I need a guidance on how far I need to space expansion joints in the concrete driveway and its type (keyway/foam.) Contraction joints are at 3m max for a 125 slab. Thanks 0 10929 |
