Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Jun 10, 2010 1:57 am While the driveway currently looks alright, the concreters were really sloppy with getting our red driveway concrete colour all over our cream bricks and right up as high as the front windows (which are standard height, not column windows). No area was safe. The colouring was splashed over the garage concrete slab and kerbing and front door also. Some of these areas were very large, not just your expected splashes. I would have expected that there would be some covering of the brickwork - is this unreasonable or should this be standard practice? We asked for the colour to be cleaned off the bricks, not realising that this would consequently strip the surface texture off our bricks. When we saw what the cleaning had done to the bricks, we asked the supervisor to ensure that they cease cleaning the more obvious areas (we were specific as to which areas these were), but they did not. Now we have a larger problem than what we first started with - not that we wanted to settle for the large red staining all across the front of our house. Driveway was done as part of our building contract. Supervisor has checked it. He got construction manager out. We will meet with CM soon too. Not happy. Can we go direct to concrete company? have been dealing with builder due to it being part of building contract. Any comments or similar experiences? Building Standards; Getting It Right! Hi all, My neighbour has built his 15m long garage on our boundary. It was agreed as part of the planning permit that the wall must be in exposed recycled brick.
