Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 May 13, 2010 5:29 pm Hi everyone Not sure if I am posting this in the right section but I have a question about using crushed rock for our driveway - or any other suggestions you might have..... We are getting our house ready for sale, and we have quite a long driveway that ends with a parking bay area for two cars, as well as a circling around a tree. It is currently a rock topping but it has not been topped up for years so over time, it has become more like grainy sand with a few scattered rocks and with the recent rains we have had down here on the Peninsula (Melb)the driveway has turned a bit muddy as well as created ditches and run offs in the driveway. We need to do something about it for appearance sake. I just called a garden supplier and she quoted $42/m of class 2/20ml blue crushed rock. I took this to be a cubic metre but I think she said square metre (maybe I am confused). So I asked her how much area I could expect to cover from one "$42" delivery, and at first she said 1m - then she said about 100sq feet. Sorry, but I am totally confused. Can anyone tell me whether she would have meant $42/cubic metre - and if so, roughly how many square metres I could expect to get from that?? And/or, if anyone else has any other cheaper solutions to topping up our driveway or doing something to its appearance just for sale - that would be appreciated (and given we are coming into rainy weather, needs to withstand rain for next couple of months at least). Thanks, Ceebs Re: Crushed rock for driveway.... 2May 14, 2010 6:44 am Should be cubic meter, if laid say 75 mm thick should get 13 square meters Landscape Design & Construction http://cherub.squarespace.com/ Hi all, I have been looking at land in South Australia, that is on a slope however most of the core excavation is complete, with a flat area to place a house.
