Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Apr 04, 2010 9:08 pm Hi All, I am building a house in Geelong and would like a coloured concrete driveway. I was thinking a nice dark charcoal colour. The house a quite close to the street about 5 meters, with a single crossover going to a double garage. What kind of price should I expect to pay per square meter? Secondly I was thinking about laying concrete paths down the side and the rear of the house. Has anyone done this as a DIY job? What did the concrete cost? Would you do it again? Anything that I should think about before launching into a DIY concrete job? Thanks Lukemac Re: Coloured Concrete Driveway Geelong 2Apr 04, 2010 9:18 pm Couple of things: Have fun and you will learn why concretors charge what they charge. Charcoal is about $230 cubic mtr or $23 sq mtr plus placement... Where you are coming from is where you are going to... To my understanding early saw cuts are to control shrinkage cracks, so doing them now would be pointless. Control joints may reduce ugly cracking during periods of soil… 3 9862 Hi all I need a guidance on how far I need to space expansion joints in the concrete driveway and its type (keyway/foam.) Contraction joints are at 3m max for a 125 slab. Thanks 0 10940 |
