Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Mar 09, 2010 10:40 pm We have a 230m2 driveway/carport area to do on a new build! External colours of house are: Roof - woodland grey Bricks - limestone Gutters & Fascia - white Doors/Windows - white Verandahs - probably Fremantle Stone limestone colour Photo of house (driveway to go up side, single one, to double carport at rear of house): Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Midland Brick have a special on 76mm deep pavers at only $18 per m. So that works out quite reasonable compared to concrete aggregate/liquid limestone etc. The brick colour we are looking at is napoli (red) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I am not good at choosing colours so would like to know if this red brick would go okay with house. There are cream ones available (perhaps as border) - would you use a border on only a single driveway, or would it make it appear too narrow? Appreciate any help!! Re: Driveway Recommendations & Paver colours 2Mar 10, 2010 3:47 am One problem I have noticed with cream bricks is due to all the new roads in my estate - I have many black tyre marks on my driveway. Yours looks like a fairly established area so you might not have that problem. Saying that I am not a fan of red bricks/pavers so I only ever would have gone cream for myself. Red bricks are also a fair bit darker then the cream - no good if you are anything like me and wander along the driveway in bare feet in the middle of summer The question is tho do u prefer red or cream paving? Verandah bricks will be cream/sandstone pavers, so need to have a contrasting colour. I guess red would hide any oil marks, tyre marks. I agree Cream do show them up. Thanks. Re: Driveway Recommendations & Paver colours 4Mar 20, 2010 8:51 pm BTW I absolutely love your house, just the kind that I would have loved to have built! Re: Driveway Recommendations & Paver colours 5Mar 20, 2010 9:11 pm I think that it would suit your house, red driveways always look so inviting and it would provide a nice contrast. I think a cream driveway would be in danger of washing out the elevation. I'm a big fan of red pavers, in fact we ended up getting Midland Brick Ezi Pave in Burnished Red with a cream border. Re: Driveway Recommendations & Paver colours 7Mar 21, 2010 11:05 pm Thanks everyone for all your helpful comments. We made a decision on the red pavers for the driveway, and are now going to look at limestone/sandstone pavers for the verandah. We may go for Fremantle Stone pavers, however will look around. Anyone in Perth used a different company other than Fremantle Stone for similar paving bricks? I do like them but they are quite pricey, a nice product though. Went to see house yesterday, got doors and windows in. I'll post a photo. They are located in Port Kennedy. We liked one of their colours (Lychee) that we had seen on display at a local pool place. Have not seen this colour anywhere else. http://www.australianlimestonecreations.com.au/ Another place to look at is Atlas Paving. Re: Driveway Recommendations & Paver colours 9Jul 27, 2010 8:34 pm I was just going to mention Australian limestone creations for their paving too - they have 12 new colours to choose from Follow Feggle viewtopic.php?f=31&t=34992 Follow lilfeggle viewtopic.php?f=31&t=37149 Asbestosis Sux! I like the wide verandah, although the dark roof will attract heat, is the ceiling well insulated ? The darker the pavers the hotter they will get in summer, although I am not a fan of cream in a paver! Good to see some decent eaves though, where are you located ? (There is a location field in your profile you can fill in) Re: Driveway Recommendations & Paver colours 11Aug 20, 2010 10:19 am Wow, I just want to say how much I love your house!
