Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Feb 17, 2010 1:26 am hi all ,im in the process of building a split level house.my plans are in council and ive got most of my quotes but concrete seems to really vary on this forum.the bottom floor is 174 squares which is waffle pod .the upstairs balcony, garage and the porch are 72 squares collectively which are all suspended slabs .how much on average per square to do the waffle pod slab ?also the suspended slab seems to be really expensive but have no clue really.any help would be awesome.i am looking forward to uploading my whole ob experience to hopefully help/encourage others as this site is remarkable for gaining knowledge Re: suspended slab and waffle pod slab pricing? 3Feb 17, 2010 9:41 am price is all dependant on site class. your best bet is to review the slab plans its all to do with the engineer design. as for sus slab it can get very expensive because of all the time to setup and make the site safe, using akro props ect. Re: suspended slab and waffle pod slab pricing? 5Feb 17, 2010 1:04 pm is it possible to do any of the forming with acro props bondek and steel work etc as i know a concretor who works for a big construction company who told me he would show me how to do the steel and form work and just pay him and his team for the pour only ?once the forming is done is the price of concrete and labour the same as a conventional slab ? Re: suspended slab and waffle pod slab pricing? 6Feb 17, 2010 1:10 pm i would suggest you get the people who do the props to come and put them up for you. you can get the bondek installed yourself and do steel work yourself. but make sure you have the correct overlaps ect for your bondek and steel because you are will be req to have a pre pour inspection to make sure its done correctly. akro probs should be done by pro because you may think doing yourself is cheaper but that a LOAD of weight ontop to support and you dont want anyone getting seriously injured because of incorrect placment of them. i have gone through bondek floor from personal experiance and the owner erected the props himself. lucky for me i was unhurt. but the job ended up costing LOADS more. Re: suspended slab and waffle pod slab pricing? 7Feb 17, 2010 1:11 pm M site , budget for 95 -100 per m2 for waffles assuming its reasonably close to a concrete plant. this does not include pump or required piering Ball park figures here to, without seeing the site or design one cannot give an accurate set price and yah... dont attempt suspended yourself. Re: suspended slab and waffle pod slab pricing? 9Feb 17, 2010 1:47 pm thanks guys ,i do have all my plans on my computer but im not sure how to upload them ?i can e mail them thats easy ,so i would be glad for someone to take a look that would be great .
