Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Jan 25, 2010 7:52 pm I love the Barwon colour from Mentone Premix, so I called them to get a quote. They said $275 + GST per CUBIC meter. I don't know how that compares now, because everyone else it quoting in square meters? How big will yours be? I love that colour, ideally we'd also have a similar color, I like Tambo as well. Maybe we could get a discount for two? I don't even know how to find out.... I know it depends on the driveway/landscaping you personally design, but I am not sure how to actually find out how big the area from the front of our house to the sidewalk is. Our plans are too confusing... I like Tambo as well, but Barwon is perfect. It's a really nice creamy colour that will suit our general house colours. I noticed that we seems to have similar colour ideas. If you like, we can call them up and say we will give you two driveway to do, on houses that are practically next to each other, if we receive some type of discount. It's worth a try! That doesn't seem right... So what you are saying is that all of those costs, mesh, placement, etc etc, are not included in this quote, and it will probably be more like $90 per square meter? I assume that the concreter you choose, effects the total price you pay, so can anyone here recommend a good concreter in the Melbourne South East area? Specifically Cranbourne North. The cost of your mix was about the same as the one I used. This worked out to be $90perSqM fully laid, cut sealed ect. was a good price. Details are in my blog. Cozmo just remember the cost per metre has many variables: 1. Distance from the concrete plant (currently $1 per cubic mtr per K) 2. Site works. 3. Warranty. 4. cost of mix locally (the cost of the mix can vary from plant to plant) 5. The size of the job. I have generalized the cost of placement and supply because certain 'variables' were not available to make up the cost base. I have found it is better to have a higher 'rough' quote and end up with a lower bill, than to 'find' extras like lots of contractors do. Onc Where you are coming from is where you are going to...
