It's very slippery and dangerous and we don't want to repeat the mistake in the garage. Does anyone know how we can fix the shed floor, and what can we paint the garage floor with that will be non-slip? Thanks in advance.... Re: Painting garage floor 2Jan 25, 2010 12:51 pm A couple of questions for you and for anyone out there who knows, why paint a garage floor, and is there in fact any way of doing it that doesn't commit you to ongoing maintenance given that a garage floor would have to be a really hardwearing surface to cope with the cars? Re: Painting garage floor 6Jan 26, 2010 9:41 am Macy, yes I understand what you are saying, we just thought any spills or stains wouold be easier to remove from a sealed surface, and concrete is porous and soaks liquids up. The Dulux product seems quite expensive - will look into the friction enhancer. Thanks for the replies! Re: Painting garage floor 8Jan 26, 2010 11:10 am Would that be polishing Onc? The Dulux coating is no good if it is exposed to UV light. For example a second access way to the garage that is open a lot, a window that is uncovered, a door that is open a lot. I was hoping to use the Dulux on mine but no good You see in new workshops/ service centres the floors are often painted and they stand up to some serious wear pretty well. I want mine done in cream so it makes the garage lighter and spills of fluids are easy to wipe up. oils, brake fluids etc. Any ideas folks? Has to be pretty tough to light? Re: Painting garage floor 12Feb 08, 2010 2:27 pm We painted ours using the Dulux Garage floor kit (Bunnings has it). Not slippery at all in the wet. Reason is that you first scrub the concrete with a hard bristled broom to roughen up the surface (adds traction) and then you mix the paint with a non slip mix which adds more texture and traction. The one kit does a standard double garage. You will need more if you have a big double garage (eg small workshop area etc) Al & Caitie- Building the Hamilton 278 (Coral) at Narangba Re: Painting garage floor 13Feb 12, 2010 1:39 pm onc - what do you think about polyurea floor coatings like this mob? http://www.flexiconsw.com.au/citadel-floors The product above is about $28/m2 And what sort of price would be reasonable for a good solvent-based epoxy floor?
