Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Jan 20, 2010 11:27 am hi im about to do my driveway in expossed agg, in the next 3 to 4 weeks. and just looking by eye there does not seem to be much fall, from top of garage floor to the front footpath. so my question is how much fall is enough. i dont really want to use a grate ,if i can get out of it. i realize there has to be some fall for water to get away. has anyone got any thoughts........ Re: how much fall is enough for my concrete driveway.......... 2Jan 20, 2010 11:32 am I would have thought that the greater the fall, the more need for a grate. Specially since you are on clay. Is any of you block lower than your house? That is a large(ish) catchment area 30 sqs flat. If you live in an area that has 1mtr of rain PA then the drive will have to deal with 30kl PA... If it goes nowhere then I suggest it will flow towards your house, which presumably is on a sand pad??
