Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Nov 21, 2009 2:26 pm Hi All, I am hoping someone out there can help please? We have limestone around our inground pool which is pretty ugly and old. We were hoping to paint over it with Berger Jet Dry Aquatread. I spoke with Dulux who manufacture it and they cannot recommend it as they have tested on limestone. The lady said to give it a go and see how it turns out, however I don't want to do all the prep etc if it just comes over after a while. Has anyone here used the Berger Jet Dry over limestone and how did it turn out? We are in Perth so it gets pretty hot over here in summer (don't know if that is relevant or not). Any comments, suggestions or help will be much appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help Samantha Re: LIMESTONE AND BERGER JET DRY PAVING PAINT? YOUR ADVICE PLS. 2Nov 21, 2009 5:16 pm There is probably no reason why it would not bond to the limestone, I am guessing you mean liquid limestone. Light acid etch and pressure clean should do it but once it is painted it will require regular coats over time. I will PM you with another option. Cheers Steve.. Re: LIMESTONE AND BERGER JET DRY PAVING PAINT? YOUR ADVICE PLS. 3Nov 27, 2009 7:58 am Hi Steve, THANK YOU SO MUCH!! It is liquid limestone, I will look up acid etching now. As it is around the pool and its a hot weekend here in Perth I will have to make sure it doesn't end up in the pool! Any other ideas you are thinking of are welcome, we begin tomorrow morning with Prep and then doing the paint on Sunday! Thanks again, made me feel heaps better. Will post up how we go and some pictures of before and after also. Re: LIMESTONE AND BERGER JET DRY PAVING PAINT? YOUR ADVICE P 4Jul 04, 2010 7:18 pm Hi All, we did this over Christmas and prepped it as per the can instructions and it is now coming off. The Berger Jet Dry colour on the colour chart looked nothing like what actually appeard on the limestone, it was way darker. It was supposed to be a mushroom colour and it came out a mission dark brown and hideous! We did not know that * next to the colour with EDT = Extra Dark Tone could be about 100% darker than the colour chart so be careful of this. We did the lot as we though it would lighten up once the paint dried but it didn't. It is now coming off wherever the pool water lands (at the end of the pool where the roller is etc). We are now having it pulled up and paved. So if you read this - NO Berjer Jet Dry does not work over liquid limestone. It does not state it is for limestone, but concrete. It was worth the shot though Re: LIMESTONE AND BERGER JET DRY PAVING PAINT? YOUR ADVICE P 5Jul 07, 2010 2:39 pm You should be using a penetrating sealer. They don't crack or peel and will last a lot longer. If you would like more info you can message me. It's possible but a soak well is usually much larger. Your 'soak well' only holds 424 litres when full. What is your soil type? Soak wells need sandy soils. 10 9012 DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair Ditto 3M Claw, expensive but best thing I've used to date.
