We have about 100m2 of paving that needs doing and really like the look of house bricks laid on edge (ie with the 230mm x 75mm face showing) in herringbone pattern.
Obviously to use these rather than a standard 40-50mm thick paver would require about 60mm more excavation before puring the concrete foundation. (ie compared to the 110mm deep house brick on edge)
Does anyone have a feel for how much extra per sqm we are likely to be up for to dig out the extra 60mm?
I notice that Daniel Robertson bricks do a 230 x 75 x 25 paving tile to simulate the look but they do not have a colour we are happy with. Are there other suppliers for similar products that anyone can recommend?
thank you
On a related point, does herringbone pattern cost much more than square patterns to lay?
