Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Sep 01, 2009 3:55 pm G'day, I need a path that will go from one side of the house to the other, about 35metres all up. Something so I can walk on without dragging dirt and grass into the house, and will stop the dog dragging dirt onto out deck. I want it around 700mm wide. My first thought was exposed agg., but after a few quotes I have found it isn't something we can afford. I need something a bit cheaper that I can do myself. I was thinking of learning how to do Crazy Paving, which I love the look of. The other idea I had was mixing a little rapid-set concrete thru some granitic sand and whacking it down hard, maybe edging it in pebbles or something. Will this set hard enough to avoid little sand bits making it's way into the house (yes, I am a clean freak...) Your advice is appreciated. Re: I need a footpath - what type? Crazy paving, granitic sand.. 2Sep 05, 2009 5:42 pm I think that if the crazy paving idea is going to fit in nicely with the current look and feel of your house, then that isn't a bad way to go. I got a cheap little DIY paving book from Bunnings. It was only about $5, and it talks about planning your design as well as some useful little tidbits on how to go about completing the projects. Project 1 in this book is a brick paved garden path. Not specifically crazy paving, but some great ideas for the price. Let us know what you decide and how it turns out. I love finding out how peoples projects go. Re: I need a footpath - what type?
