Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Aug 19, 2009 2:05 pm Guys, i am planning to get my backyard - around 100 m2 concreted. Are there any things that i need to check or take care before i finalise a concretor ? like type of cement, ratio of cement - color, mpa ? etc etc.. I am looking to get a coloured concrete probably charcoal color. Re: Concrete recommendations - Melbourne 2Aug 20, 2009 6:29 pm HI there Explain to your local concrete company exactly what you want as they will have a heap of contractors on their books who can help you out. Problem with Charcoal is that it will fade quick unless its sealed and with Colour through they wont be able to guarantee colour You will want to seal it after 28 days and allow all the hydration to take place Re: Concrete recommendations - Melbourne 3Aug 21, 2009 4:31 pm getnewlookjason HI there Explain to your local concrete company exactly what you want as they will have a heap of contractors on their books who can help you out. Re: Concrete recommendations - Melbourne 4Aug 21, 2009 4:33 pm i am actually not too interested in Charcoal but prob is that my existing approx 25 m2 is already charcoal coloured (i.e. plain concrete with coloured seal etc etc) so thats why have to match it or else it wud look silly.. is there any way to get rid of existing charcoal color and do something else ?? Re: Concrete recommendations - Melbourne 5Aug 21, 2009 4:56 pm namz is there any way to get rid of existing charcoal color and do something else ?? A big hammer Hydration is how the concrete curing takes place = it de-hydrates Outgassing water and freelime if available. Thus don't seal until cured. Though there are those same day sealers Onc_artisan Where you are coming from is where you are going to... Re: Concrete recommendations - Melbourne 6Aug 22, 2009 5:55 pm Never been a fan of the next day sealers esp solvent based one, most of these tend to go blotchy There are now a couple of good water Based ones you can put on to help cure after 3 days, this will also help control the hydration and sometime eliminate hairline cracks Trick is to make sure the sealer doesnt have too much of a solids content, this meaning its thicker in film thickness I reccomend these to contractors who place concrete for my clients, Nothing worse than new concrete with cracks or blooming I do enjoy the drama:-D In his latest two videos he has started bringing security guards to site, I am waiting for the punch on to begin lol 6 45549 Hello, we can help you please get in contact 0421019219 thank you 3 31843 I ended up going with 'Andrew Belic Construction Co.' https://www.instagram.com/andrewbelicconstruction/ 2 59668 |
