Having a concrete slab, and only just heard about concrete polished floors, including the terazzo look. Just seen the acid wash problems here and thought . Any tips very welcome! Re: concrete floor advice 3Aug 11, 2009 12:27 pm OK. We have floor plans ( Harkaway Home , Rutherglen). Only just settled on property so in the very preliminary stages. Will consider different pricings if it means don't have to use other floor coverings. Thought of having carpet in bedrooms, hard floors most other areas. Budget...at the moment, have a quote which allows about $85m2 for the slab. ( Adding ...class m raft slab, 100ml thick, double dutch to me!) Could look at this two ways. One as a temporary measure to have a reasonable floor until we can afford to do an alternative ( the acrylic surface??), or secondly, pay a bit more I guess and to the terazzo type thing? ( More like a cut and polish several times over). Just done some initial research. Some say to watch out for cracks. I have no idea. Thanks. If you wanted that is..finding a few people like just the grey (black oxide 50%) more than fully ground and polished concrete these days. just a thought onc_artisan Where you are coming from is where you are going to... In the states but it explains the more expensive process, rather than the sealant. Also used here by Pro Grind. Interesting. You can make it look like what you want. pros...hardwaring, low maintenace, light reflective. cons...needs to be insulated underneath.
