Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Jun 29, 2009 5:37 am I'd like to recommend our concretor who just finished our driveway. We had a bad previous experience with another and as it turns out it it was to meant to be. We found Darren Taylor 0417115857 who quoted on the 17th and had finished the job on the 27th. This was more down to luck as someone else postponed in the meantime. We just had charcoal coloured concrete but it looks fantastic. We had four quotes originally and when he came out he raised far more issues and had lots more suggestions. He and his workmen were very courteous, clean and respectful of our property. Great to hear that you have a good concretor which I think is hard to find. I am looking around for a reliable concretor to do my driveway in 2 months' time in Western Melbourne. I have seen a few concretors doing the driveway in my area but was not impressed. I think the base, the placing of the reinforcement bars and the concrete being properly vibrated when poured are important factors on the final product of the driveway. Did your contractor provide a compacted aggregate base (75 to 100 mm) and the reinforcement bars resting on reo chair (suspended deck bar chair) before concreting. And is the concrete vibrated ? Glad to have feed back from you before I contact your contractor. Re: Great concretor in Melb North/West!! 7Jul 21, 2009 11:06 am I just called for a rough idea on cost per sqm and he said it depends on colour and the excavation and drainage required. He said to be safe, aim for $65 per sqm Brittany are you able to post a photo of your driveway?
