Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 May 07, 2009 2:27 pm Hi Guys, After trying to get several quotes (unsuccessfully) on getting concrete footings laid so a small 5-6 brick high retaining wall can be built, ive decided to do the footing myself. Ive got a few questions which i hope people can help me with. 1/How thick should the footing be? 2/as well as crushed rock, is reo required? 3/ MPA recommendations? Thanks in advance for any help. Also if you know a concreter/bricklayer in the Taylos Hill area which is willing to give me a quote on either brick work, concreting or both, please send through their details. Ive already started digging out the area which is a hard task itself. Sorry for my lack of understanding but can you please explain the following questions: 1- What do you mean by y12 deform bar in internal cavity @ max 500mm cntrs core fill with conc. If i have trench mesh in the conc, where does the deform bar need to go? 2- What is internal tanking where back fill touch's and damp course? 3- Also the footings will have step downs as it will run along a step pathway. Apart from boxing up the step downs, is there anything else i need to do in this area to tie together the concrete? thanks. My holes are around 450mm deep which I'll put a 200mm stirrup into. The bottom of these holes seem firm enough. … 0 3300 |
