House not built yet but I wanted a rough idea on cost before I went to Prestart and got a quote from the builder! The driveway needing to be done is about 12m2 and the crossover about 35m2. We will be using pavers (i think) BUILT with Homebuyer's Centre - Aussie Alfresco Games viewtopic.php?f=31&t=16668 Moved In - Dec 14th Painting all but done - Jan 11 Front Landscaping - Feb 8 Moved In PICS Page 43 Re: Perth Concrete Recommendations 5May 13, 2009 6:23 pm Hello All! I too am interested in finding a good concrete supplier/installer for my driveway+crossover in Perth. We were planning on having Liquid Limestone put down, but recently found out that our local council does not approve of this material for construction of crossovers.... They say according to their 'test', it simply is not strong enough..."doesn't even come close to the strength of concrete" was her exact words. Is this true? Anyone have any experience they can share? Anyway, we like the 'limestone' look and so I guess the next best step is to go for a coloured concrete in a 'limestone' colour. However, we aren't too sure how that will end up looking. Can anyone help with a pic? Hope one of the wonderful forum people can answer your question here kirsada....and then maybe I will have my answer too! Re: Perth Concrete Recommendations 6May 13, 2009 7:36 pm I rang Brikmakers, who we are getting the "included paving" from and got a rough quote of $3000 for 45m2. Freight + Cost of Pavers = $1000 Supply and Install - anywhere from $20 - $45 per m2 depending on site work required. This will include driveway AND crossover. Our council (Kwinana) doesn't like standard concrete for the crossover, not sure what the other concrete is or costs. Anybody else got quotes yet?? If Homebuyers centre can do it cheaper then I will go with them - can't be bothered mucking around BUILT with Homebuyer's Centre - Aussie Alfresco Games viewtopic.php?f=31&t=16668 Moved In - Dec 14th Painting all but done - Jan 11 Front Landscaping - Feb 8 Moved In PICS Page 43 Re: Perth Concrete Recommendations 7May 14, 2009 1:16 am yes it is true. Why not go for an exposed ag drive? Re: Perth Concrete Recommendations 8May 15, 2009 2:01 pm liquid limestone is 18-20 MPa cross overs are min25MPa but most require 32 MPa dependant on council, but in saying that i install limestone in residential drives etc for standard vehicle traffic @100mm etc but not crossovers due to council regs. The crossover officer there has told me over the phone and in email that they do not approve liquid limestone for crossovers. Those that already have it down, they are yet to make a decision on whether to have the owners rip them up or not. That's what I've been told...could be a 'scare tactic', I don't know. Please note though, this only applies to the Crossover section. So in essence you are allowed to lay your driveway with liquid limestone.....but council might ask you to rip it up if you use it for your crossover. That sorta ruins the whole thing because who wants a non-uniform driveway+crossover? Bah... Re: Perth Concrete Recommendations 10May 15, 2009 3:25 pm Firstly, apologies kirsada....this sorta has turned into a thread hi-jack. Maybe I should start a new thread. @ Toni: Hmmm.....interesting turn of events. Keep me up to date and let us know when/if you hear back from the City of Armadale. Thanks for your help. Re: Perth Concrete Recommendations 11May 15, 2009 6:22 pm no problemo...I am learning stuff from you guys anyway BUILT with Homebuyer's Centre - Aussie Alfresco Games viewtopic.php?f=31&t=16668 Moved In - Dec 14th Painting all but done - Jan 11 Front Landscaping - Feb 8 Moved In PICS Page 43 Re: Perth Concrete Recommendations 12Jun 02, 2009 7:12 pm hi everyone we are also building in Harrisdale. Re: Perth Concrete Recommendations 17Aug 11, 2009 1:25 am Sputnik We've been quoted as low as $34 sq.m for driveway/patio concreting, provided the area is level and clear. If someone can supply and lay concrete for this much than buyer beware, you get what you pay for. Ask to look at jobs completed by your contractor, good ones are usually happy to and proud of there work. Really tight at the top of the stairs- how to get furniture into those rooms? Study books - does anyone really use them these days? Large storage closet would be more functional. 2 6885 I do enjoy the drama:-D In his latest two videos he has started bringing security guards to site, I am waiting for the punch on to begin lol 6 45549 |
